If you know a business doing something outstanding then now is the time to enter it for one of the 2010 South London Business Awards.
Launched on Friday 18th November, the awards are sponsored by HSBC. Speaking at the launch at Delfina, near London Bridge, Carol Bagnald, HSBCs regional commercial director for London, said pressures created by the recession would help shape some of the winners.
She said: "HSBC is delighted to sponsor the South London Business Awards as
promoting local business is key to the economic success of the region.
"Despite the challenging economic climate, new businesses have emerged and existing businesses consolidated, and even grown, their position in the market. It is amazing how adversity often brings out the best in people.
We applaud the winners and their achievements, all of which wifi help drive London forward when we emerge from recession"
Liz Love, managing director of Clapham-based Z-Card which won the Business of the Year category last year, said: "The publicity and kudos of winning awards such as these really help our profile, particularly when we are pitching for new business"
South London Business chief executive Peter Pledger said: "We are delighted to launch the 2010 South London Business Awards and pleased to be working closely with HSBC. Every year more and more companies enter the awards. We may be in a recession, but we still need to reward and celebrate our business community - and acknowledge south London's success stories."
This newspaper is again supporting the awards by sponsoring the Best Customer Service Award and we would encourage readers to nominate
their favourite local business for any of the categories by visiting www.slbawards.co.uk or texting the word AWARDS to 60777.
The closing date for entries is February 19, 2010. A gala dinner and awards ceremony will be held at Selhurst Park Stadium on May 19, 2010.
