If you have not yet submitted your completed entry for this year’s South London Business Awards, do it today, before it’s too late. That’s the message from the organisers of the prestigious annual event that will shortly select the crème de la crème of business in the capital south of the Thames.
“We are very pleased with the response we have had to this year’s awards proving that companies are not only working hard to beat the recession, but also see the value of promoting themselves to be in a stronger position when the economic upturn comes,” said Peter Pledger, chief executive of South London Business.
And he added: “There are still businesses, large and small, that we have yet to hear from and our message to you is ‘get those entry forms completed and sent in. You stand to gain so much by entering.” Closing date for entries to the award – sponsored this year by HSBC - is February 19th. Last year’s winners are in no doubt as to the value of topping one of the 11 award categories on offer.
Liz Love, managing director of Z-Cards, voted the Best Business for Marketing category and overall Best Business winner said: ‘How very lucky I am! I work in a sector that happens to be growing, I have a great product but, more than that, it’s the people that I work with.”
Named Entrepreneur of the Year, Vicky Stothard, founder of Independent mindbodysoul Ltd said: ““Being an entrepreneur is something you have to do yourself but you can’t do it without an amazing team and I have an amazing team. We’ve been finalists before and now it’s great to be recognised for what you do.”
Firms that have registered for the 2010 awards but have yet to complete their entry forms should visit the South London Business Awards website (www.slbawards.co.uk) and fill the appropriate form for their nominated categories. There are even helpful judges tips to make the form-filling easier and to ensure the assessors have all the information they need when they are picking the winners.
The lucky firms will be announced at a glittering Oscar-style dinner to be held on May 19 in a lavish marquee on the pitch at Selhurst Park, home to Crystal Palace Football Club.
